Recovering the upholstery on existing pieces of furniture is a brilliant idea, especially if they were well made in the first place. It is environmentally thoughtful but also a lovely opportunity to breathe new life into something with sentimental value. Layered Home has a professional connection with most upholstery services in Newcastle. I have an arrangement whereby you can engage the upholsterer’s services but order your fabric from my library and I manage everything on your behalf.
I have recovered many pieces over the years for happy customers. Don’t worry if the frame, springs or foam are in bad shape- reconditioning can be included in the quote:

I have a growing collection of high- performance stain resistant fabrics (which are a godsend when children and pets are present) and also recycled fabrics ranges, which are now are as soft and luxurious as standard fabrics.
My fabric library is broad, without being overwhelming and includes beautiful options for every budget. Offering advice on which upholstery fabric will work best is part of the service. Combining colours or prints with plains can be quite daunting to the untrained eye but I do this sort of thing everyday so don’t hesitate to seek advice. Many customers bring photos to help guide the process but we always get there in the end.
